Charges are pending following a Friday high speed pursuit.
Strasburg Police attempted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to turn off their high beams for oncoming traffic.
The driver stopped but then sped away going at a high rate of speed. The pursuit, according to a Strasburg Police release, went on to I-77 with speeds topping at over 100 mph. The chase ended in Dover behind Comfort Inn. The driver fled on foot into a wooded area.
In response, Dover Police and the Tuscarawas count Sheriff’s Office assisted at times, along with New Philadelphia Police with their drone and a K9 to track the suspect. The State Highway Patrol also responded with a fixed wing aircraft. No one was arrested.
Documents within the vehicle identified a suspect and a report will be sent to the Prosecutor’s office for potential charges.
