Nick McWilliams reporting – Tuscarawas County residents can help the Ohio State Highway Patrol give to those in need.

On Saturday, June 17th, troopers from the New Philadelphia Post of OSP will be in Malvern collecting food at Kishman’s IGA on Alliance Road. Assistants will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for collections.

All food collected will be in support of the Minerva Salvation Army on Valley Street.

Items that will be accepted are non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies such as Clorox wipes, antibacterial spray, and paper towels, paper products, and personal care items like shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste.

The Minerva branch of the Salvation Army is open for area residents from Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. for grocery pickups, or by appointment.
