Hilda Mary Marlatt, 80, of Uhrichsville, passed away on November 7, 2021, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born June 7, 1941 in Newfoundland, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Mariange and Eileen Mary (Benoit) Gastia.
On August 8, 1962, Hilda married Linn David Marlatt with whom she enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage until his passing on March 25, 2012. They are survived by four daughters, Margaret Ryan, Lisa (Dave) Boles, Judy (Steve) Loibl, and Vicky Holly, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hilda is also survived by her sisters, Lillian Hamblin, Madonna Skinner, and Madeline Skinner; brother, Artie Gastia; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Diane Sanner; granddaughter, Brandy Vosick; and mother-in-law, Margaret Greer.
Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who enjoyed puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, and watching her shows. She was Catholic by faith.
Rev. Lisa Elliott will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, November 12, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
