The Tuscarawas County Historical Society is now taking nominations for its 2025 Zeisberger Heckewelder Awards.
Curator Kim Jurkovic says the awards – first given out in 1981 – are to recognize individuals or organizations for their service to the community or for their work keeping the county’s history alive. Nominees cannot be current officeholders.
Jurkovic says the award nominations will be accepted through February 1st, winners will be announced in April, and the awards will be presented at the annual Founders Day Banquet in May.
More information about the nomination process can be found at the society’s website, www.tuschs.org.
