Four Holmes County insurance agencies teamed up to “sound the alarm.”
Habrun’s Insurance Services, Burgett Insurance Agency, Troy Miller Agency, and Hummel Insurance Group are the agencies promoting the American Red Cross program called “Sound the Alarm.”
The American Red Cross provides smoke alarms to fire districts and they install them in homes free of charge.
The four insurance agencies provided donations and the funds were used to purchase 200 awareness signs for placement throughout the county.
A smoke detector with a working battery can make all the difference in the event of a fire, allowing residents to safely escape.
Smoke detectors should be tested monthly and replaced every 10 years to ensure proper function.
