No one was hurt in a house fire that caused $25,000 in damage on the north end of Dover Wednesday afternoon.

Dover Fire Captain Kyle Ousley says a neighbor alerted a resident to smoke and fire coming from the back of the house on Carolina Street Northwest around 5:00 Wednesday afternoon.

He says crews quickly extinguished the fire and then were on scene for about an hour and 40 minutes as they extensively overhauled and ventilated the home.

Ousley says the cause of the fire is under investigation. Several departments responded, including Bolivar, New Philadelphia, Strasburg, Wayne Township, Smith Ambulance and the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office.
