A Newcomerstown house is a total loss after a late morning fire Tuesday, but nobody was hurt.
Newcomerstown Fire Chief Jeff Parks says crews responded to a garage fire that had spread to
the attached home in the 15000 block of Dog Road SW just after 11:30 a.m.
“Garage fire that extended to the house. We went defensive and it was pretty much a total loss for structure and contents.”
He says the occupants made it out of the home.
Parks says the homeowners were not insured, and the Red Cross is helping them with temporary
housing. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
