Homer Blystone 86, of Bolivar, died Sunday August 13, 2023, at his residence following a period of declining health. Born July 24, 1937, in Allison Park, Pa., he was a son of the late Homer B. and Francis (George) Blystone.
He retired in 2002 as a Turn Supervisor at Republic Steel in Canton after 38 years. Homer was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church. He enjoyed word puzzles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was also the former caretaker at Venus Cemetery in Venus. Pa.
He is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Miller, whom he married December 12, 1980. Also surviving are 4 children Bradley (Krystle) Blystone of Waconia, Minnesota, a stepson Jessi (Angie) Miller of Dover and Kevin, Beth, Kevin; several grandchildren and a sister Harriet (Louis) Hague of Portersville, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters Helen, Anna Dorothy, Virginia and 4 brothers James, Robert, Raymond and Richard.
A family graveside service will be held at Venus Cemetery in Venus, Pa. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.
