This Sunday, at more than 90 local churches, a message of hope will be shared.

Empower Tusc’s HOPE Sunday initiative will give out bags at participating religious buildings and this year’s theme is Hope Transforms.

Coordinator Jodi Salvo says they are sending a 5-minute and 10-minute video to the churches, who can choose the length they show.

“It’s very intentional. This year’s video I’m super excited for everybody to see. It’s Marcus McFolling. He’s been speaking at our local schools this past year. He’s also been on the main stage at Atwood [for the ALIVE Festival].”

In addition, bulletins are included to pass along to church attendees.

“On it there’s prayer requests, you know pray for grandparents raising grandchildren, pray for someone to have the ability to reach out for treatment, but it also has the resources.”

This event is one way the local non-profit raises awareness during September, which is designated as National Recovery Month. Anyone struggling can call the Hope Line at 330-663-6812.
