Howard R. Patrick, 90, of Millersburg, and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in the Majora Lane Center at Millersburg.

Born July 3, 1931, in Newcomerstown, he was the son of the late Corliss and Viola Swinderman Patrick. Howard was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Graber Patrick on October 10, 2021; brothers, Gene Patrick, Floyd Patrick; son in law, Warren Edstrom; and brothers in law, George Harding, Bill Duncan, and Bruce Border.

Howard proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and retired from Dover Chemical as a truck driver after many years of service. He was a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a current member of Dover Alliance Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar and was a member of the group, Gospel Strings.

Howard is survived by his children, Gary (Melanie) Patrick of South Carolina, Sherry Edstrom of Danville, and Barry Patrick of Dover; siblings, Floyd (Nancy) Patrick of Indiana, Barbara (Bruce) Border of New Philadelphia, Paul (Rene) Patrick of Washington, Harriett Duncan of Mineral City; and three grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Abel, Nathanael Edstrom, Shane Edstrom; and three great-grandchildren, Amy, Evie, and Warren Abel.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28th starting at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Rick Rose officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. The family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
