Hugh M. “Mike” Yosick, 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 in his home, following a period of declining health.

Born in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna (Hinds) Yosick and a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Mike was an honorably discharged veteran having served in the United States Navy and had retired from Inland Steel at Chicago, Illinois, where he worked in management. Following his retirement, Mike then began a second career, delivering Fire Truck Chassis’ for the former Simon-Duplex Company at Dover.

Mike loved traveling with his wife and together they traveled all over the United States visiting most of the National Parks as well as traveling Internationally. He also loved bird watching and was a member of the New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445.

Mike is survived by his wife, Teresa A. (DeMattio) Yosick, whom he married on April 4, 2004. Also surviving are three daughters, Michelle Heller of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Elizabeth (Jim) Kristoff of Lake Placid, Florida and Shaunta Ford of Cleveland; a brother, Edward (Bari) Yosick of Clarkston, Michigan; two sisters, Viola Diehl of New Philadelphia, Rose Meister LaGrange, Georgia and five grandchildren.

In keeping with his wishes, Mike is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia and no public services are scheduled.
