Tuscarawas County will have the first-of-its-kind event to bring first responders and the communities they serve closer together.
National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th, aims to build police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
Tonia Rees of New Philadelphia has helped at events in bigger cities through her employer, Dollar Tree, and thought it was time to have one here to support local safety forces.
The local National Night Out will take place on Howe Street in front of the Dover Moose Family Center, where Rees is an officer. There will be food trucks from Swensons and Ross Mountain BBQ and more than a dozen businesses and organizations providing games, giveaways, and more.
Dover Fire and Police, and the State Highway Patrol will be among the agencies bringing their equipment and vehicles for guests to check out.
