Four people sustained serious injuries and remained hospitalized Friday morning following a head-on collision on U.S. Route 250 in southern Stark County Thursday afternoon.

A press release from the Stark County State Highway Patrol says a 2002 Toyota RAV4 traveling northwest on 250 of state Route 93 in Sugarcreek Township went left of center and struck a 2024 GMC Sierra head on. Three of the four RAV4 occupants were ejected from the vehicle. The fourth in the right-front passenger seat required extrication by the fire department. They were not wearing seatbelts. All four were transported by
EMS to Mercy and Aultman hospitals.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, a 31-year-old man from Michigan, sustained minor injuries and was treated at Mercy Hospital. State Route 250 and the nearby railroad tracks were closed for a while as crews worked the crash scene. Beach City Fire and EMS, Wilmot EMS, Strasburg EMS and Tracers Towing assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Sgt. Brett Claxon with the State Highway Patrol did not have an update on the condition of the victimsearlier Friday.
