A New Philadelphia man whose car was broken into was able to get back some of his missing items by tracking down his Apple air pods.

According to a police report, on Saturday morning, just after 10:30, a 5th Street Northwest resident reported somebody got into his unlocked vehicle overnight. He was missing cash, Pokémon cards, the vehicle’s registration and the Apple Air pods.

By using his phone and contacting Apple, the man tracked his air pods to a 6th Street Northwest address about 15-hundred feet away.

Police spoke to the resident, who admitted to taking the items. Police returned some of them to the owner.

The suspect, a 21-year-old New Philadelphia man, has been charged with misdemeanor theft.

An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in New Philadelphia Municipal Court.
