Tuscarawas County Health Officials are using public health week as an opportunity to let the public know about what they do behind the scenes.
Community Relations Director Jennifer Demuth says it’s much more than just offering medical appointments or giving flue test and vaccines.
A lot of their work focuses on keeping residents’ safe and not just reacting to outbreaks or spills.
“We’re also out there doing a lot of prevention services like how to quit smoking or vaping, we’re out their doing fall prevention to make sure the home is safe for an older loved one.”
The Health Department is also responsible for mosquito control, distributing naloxone kits, collecting scrap tires, and more. Details can be found at www.tchdnow.org.
