Jack William Garabrandt, 88, of New Philadelphia died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday evening of July 5, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.
Jack was born on January 17, 1937, in Uhrichsville to the late John William and Esta Pearl (Connor) Garabrandt. He was a 1954 graduate of Gnadenhutten High School and while in high school, Jack worked at Tusco Display. After graduating, he was employed by Warner Swasey, now Gradall, and then began his career with UPS as a delivery driver for over thirty years.
A very active person, Jack didn’t sit still much when he wasn’t at his job. He liked to work on cars, refinish furniture, and was very active in the Christian Temple Church, where he even helped with the building of the new church.
Surviving are Jack’s wife of sixty-nine years, Minnie (Ulrich), whom he married on February 5, 1956, a daughter Loretta (Randy) Farley of Little Hocking, a daughter-in-law Tina Garabrandt of Beach City, two grandchildren: Bryan (Lory) Garabrandt and Nicole (Nate) Seal; four great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Lola, Izzy, and Lexi; two brothers: Stan Garabrandt of Dover and Gary Garabrandt of Florida; and two special nephews who became sons: Kevin (Donna) Johns and Herbie (Michele) Garabrandt, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a son Bryan, a brother Duane Garabrandt and a sister Juanita Johns.
There will be a memorial service held for Jack at 10:00 A.M. on August 16, 2025, at the Christian Temple of Tuscarawas County, 4249 Belden Dr SE, Uhrichsville, OH 44683. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s name to the Indian Valley Foundation Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 171, Gnadenhutten, OH 44629.
