Jacob Michael McGuire, 26, of Dover, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 12, 2022. Born April 24, 1996, in Cambridge, Ohio, he was the son of Garold G. McGuire, Jr. of Bolivar, and Tammy W. (Dillon) Black of East Sparta.
Jake was a 2014 graduate of Indian Valley High School who was employed by U. S. Ecology in Canton. He was an avid fan of Browns football and loved playing video games, especially Pokemon. Most of all, he treasured the time that he spent with his son, Maximus McGuire, whom he always called his “sidekick”.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his father, Garold; mother and stepfather, Tammy and Jack Black; son, Maximus; sisters, Elizabeth McGuire and Courtney Hammel; stepsiblings, Jay Lee Black and Kristyn Thompson; grandmother, Penny Dillon; companion, Shyler Swinehart; a large extended family which includes many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his best friend since the first grade, Cody Haney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Dillon, Jr. and Ruth and Garold McGuire.
