James Albert Shonk, age 92, of Beach City passed away in Aultman Hospital at Canton on Monday, January 23, 2023, after a period of declining health.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ferrell) Shonk whom he married on May 27, 1978; daughters, Maudie (Vance) Wiles of Strasburg, Jayne (Dan) Young of Wooster, Darlene (Mark) Baranauskas of Dundee and Dora Umstead of Millersburg; grandchildren, Travis Wiles, Tad Wiles, McKenzie Wiles, John Lane, Samantha Mosser, Jason Kiem, Carrie Loveday, Jackie Umstead, and Lori Miller; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
