James Dean “Jim” Taylor, 62, of Guernsey, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at his home. Jim was born in Coshocton to the late Dean and Kay (Snell) Taylor. Jim was a 1979 Newcomerstown High School graduate.
 
He worked at what was previously Shaw-Wilbert/currently Green Burial Vaults for over 40 years. He was also the owner/operator of Taylor’s Professional Coaches for over five years. On May 10, 1985,
 
Jim married his wife Beth (Sanders) Taylor who survives. Jim was a 4-H advisor for 12 years with the Flat Ridge Raiders, was on the Swine Committee for 7 years, and was a Wheeling Township trustee for 16 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids.
 
He is survived by his sons, Aaron of Virginia, Ryan (Nikki) of Cambridge, and Logan (Cassandra) Taylor of Guernsey; grandchildren, Devin, Bailee, Hayden, Michael, Ryker, and Luke Taylor; siblings, Deana Vickrey (Darin Poe) of West Lafayette, and Todd (Barb) Taylor of Kimbolton; two brothers-in-law, Randy (Brenda) Sanders and Rich (Beth) Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Mazel Taylor, Vernon and Marjorie Snell; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Sanders and Cary Vickrey; mother and father-in-law, Dwain and Shirley Sanders.
 

A Funeral Service will be held for Jim on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Addy Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 5 – 7 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jim Taylor Memorial Scholarship fund to Stacy Clagett, 59394 Clagett Rd.
