James Tristano, Jr., 61, of Dover, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born August 4, 1960, in Dover, he was the son of the late James Tristano, Sr., and Jenny Katrina (Torch) Tristano.

A lifelong area resident, Jim was a 1978 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Buckeye JVS. He worked for the City of New Philadelphia’s Street Department for nearly 20 years until his health prevented him, having previously been employed by Buehler’s for 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia. Jim loved golfing and fishing, and he was an avid Notre Dame fan who cheered them on faithfully since his earliest memories.

Jim will be deeply missed by his loving caregiver and former spouse of 40 years, Nancy Tristano; sons, Travis (Tanya) Tristano and Joshua Tristano; grandchildren, Brady, Ella, Xander, Kwynn, and Lilly; great-grandson, Braxton; sister, Darlene (Rick) Lahm; nephew, Chris Lahm, who was like a son to him; and a large extended family, including many cousins.

Father Jeff Coning will officiate a 3:00 p.m. service on Sunday, November 7, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. He will be interred with his parents at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison on a future date. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
