He was born at home in Newcomerstown May 1, 1930, to the late Carl and Leanice Lehman. He
graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1949. On June 14, 1952 he married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Wigfield, daughter of the late Dean and Hazel Wigfield, and recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.

Great -Grandchildren, Olivia Miller, Dwain Jolliff, and step great- grandchildren Remi and Harper Fields. Brother, Fred (Linda) Lehman.

Jim was preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Dayne, Billy, and Joe.

Jim worked as a compositor for The Newcomerstown News and Coshocton Tribune, and then retired from Simonds Cutting tools. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Newcomerstown, where he served in many capacities including usher, deacon, and trustee, and was instrumental in the construction of the new additions to the Church. He was a member of the Newcomerstown Jaycees, and Lions Club.

Jim had many hobbies and interests, some of which included international travel with his wife, golfing, bowling, and camping with his family. His favorite and most prized hobby were being a husband, father, and grandfather. Being deemed “Pappy” by his great granddaughter Olivia, was his most honorable title. He loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes football games. He was the best friend, mentor, and companion anyone could ask for, and will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know
him. His kind demeanor, sweet smile, quick wit, and warm embrace will live on in our memories. He had many life threatening events throughout his lifetime, including falling into a 40 foot well at the age of 15 months, only to be rescued by his aunt with a meat hook attached to a rope. We have been blessed with the many extra years we have had with him and will forever be grateful for our time.

The family would like to express their unconditional gratitude to the staff at Oak Pointe for their tenderness, compassion, and exceptional care to not only Jim, but the entire family.
