“Together Again”
Jane M. Shull, age 84 of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in Stone Creek Assisted Living after a period of declining health.
She was born on March 6, 1942, in Canton to the late Hugo and Ethlyn (George) Culp. She was a 1960 graduate of Minerva High School. On November 14, 1964, Jane married the love of her life, Jerry L. Shull with whom she enjoyed over 51 years of marriage until his passing on March 10, 2016.
Jane was an avid lover of her flower garden and was a past member of the Louisville Garden Club. She worked for many years in the Plain School District Cafeteria, as well as a secretary in several offices. When Jerry retired, she also “retired” and together they enjoyed traveling together, however, their greatest joy was spending time with family. She was a member of Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia and AARP.
She is survived her daughters, Lori Obermiller of North Canton, and Wendy (Richard) Strouse of Louisville; grandchildren, Ryan Obermiller, Brandon (Makenna) Obermiller, and Nicole and Erin Strouse; and niece, Tricia Grosskopf.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Ethlyn Culp; husband, Jerry Shull; and sister, Trudy Grosskopf.
The family will greet guests on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service honoring Jane’s life will be led by Rev. Dr. Tom Hendershot, on Monday, July 13, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM in Jerusalem Church, 1417 Stonecreek Rd, New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
