
On June 30, 1956, Jane married Robert L. Hashman, who passed away on January 28, 2015, after 58 years of marriage. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Newcomerstown where she served as Treasurer. Jane was a member of the Oriental Chapter #106, Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.), Newcomerstown where she served as Worthy Matron. She was also involved in the Jayceettes in Newcomerstown. Jane was an excellent baker, cook, and seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening, being in nature, animals of all kinds, music, and dancing. Christmas was Jane’s favorite time of year, where she made everything just so, when family gathered to celebrate.
She is survived by her children, Anna L. (Stuart) Kelley of West Chester, John R. (Debbie) Hashman of Fairview Park, Thomas W. (Lisa) Hashman of Driftwood, TX, and Amy L. Hashman of West Chester; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Kelley of Columbus, Sarah K. (Zachary) Becken of Driftwood, TX, and Allison M. (Kenan) Todd of Columbus Junction, IA; sister, Kristina (Kenneth) Allen, Jr. of North Bloomfield; sisters-in-law, Audrey R. Renner of Avon Park, FL and Mary H. Swank of Newcomerstown. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford “Aaron” Swank; and her brother-in-law, Wayne R. Renner.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 5, 2023, at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown at 12:00 PM, with Ken Allen, Jr. officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday at 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Coshocton Memory Gardens. Memorial donations in Jane’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association – www.alz.org/, the hospice of your choice, or your local humane society.
