Janet Carol Johnson, 81, of Tuscarawas, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, with her loving family by her side at Park Village Southside in New Philadelphia. Born January 5, 1942 in Dennison, she was the last surviving child of the late Samuel Ralph and Mildred Pauline (Hilliard) Moody, having been preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-law, Donald “Moot” Moody and Samuel and Vera Moody, and son-in-law, Randy Robinson.

On November 23, 1962, Janet married William Earl Johnson who survives her along with their daughters, Rhonda Robinson and Melissa (Mike) Smith; grandchildren, Kacie, Kyleigh, Jessica, Zackary, Justin, Daniel, and Alyssa; and great-grandchildren, Parker, Addy, Colston, Chase, Bryar, Olivia, Leo, River, and Ozzy with another expected, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Janet was a lifelong area resident and had been a member of the former Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Dennison. She spent many years as the medical assistant for Dr. Ogden at his Dennison office.

According to Janet’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital and Community Hospice.
