Janet K. Wright, 76, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover.
Born May 1, 1949, in Romney, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mildred Belknap Goldsmith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rondal “Brent” Wright in 1984; brothers, Ron and Paul Goldsmith; and sister, Sharon Robinette.
Janet graduated from Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University—the first in her family to get a college degree, a fact that filled her with pride. She worked as a registered nurse at Coshocton Memorial Hospital for 24 years before retiring in 2017. She loved playing bingo, spending time with family, and was rarely without one of her dogs nearby.
She is survived by her son, Scott Wright of Johnstown, Ohio; sisters, Linda (Tom) Ward of Elyria, Candy (Charlie) Crigger of Grafton; and brother, Allen Kerley of Elyria.
Cremation has been handled by Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover. No calling hours or services will be held
