Janet Lynn Corpman, age 62, of New Philadelphia, Ohio,  died Tuesday night, December 20, 2022, in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.

She was born August 5, 1960, in Dover, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Paul James and Betty Lou Grogg Latimer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Paul Latimer, a sister Mrs. Joy L. Healey, and a nephew Thomas Latimer.

Janet was employed for the last 15 years as a door greeter at the Walmart Super Center in New Philadelphia.  Her outgoing personality was a perfect fit for her position at Walmart, where she spent the bulk of her time. Her favorite saying, acquired from her father was “To me, there are no strangers — Just friends that I haven’t met yet.”  She was a caring mother, grandmother, and aunt who will be missed by her family and many friends. 

She is survived by a son, Mike (Crystal M. Bunton) Latimer, a grandson, Michael James Paul Latimer, a brother, Jeffrey (Crystal) Latimer, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Latimer, all of Mineral City, OH, nieces and a nephew  Mrs. Bobbie Jo (Dan) Delahunty of Boynton Beach, Florida, Kenny (Johna) Latimer of Newcomerstown, OH,  and Mrs. Tiffany (Geoff) Finley, Megan Latimer, and Sarah Latimer, all of Mineral City.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday,  December 27, 2022, in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with  Rev. John Dunn officiating.  Calling hours will be held Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Interment of her ashes will follow at a later date in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
