On February 20, 2023, Janet W. Doak passed on to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, following her 5 ½ year progression with Dementia / Alzheimer’s Disease.
Janet was born to Bertha Greathouse Cantwell and Obie A. Cantwell on January 28, 1933, in Grantsville, West Virginia and then moved to Middlebourne, West Virginia, at the age of seven. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1950 and then attended the West Virginia Business College in Wheeling. Upon graduating, she was employed by Pittsburgh Plate Glass and later the Monsanto Chemical Company.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert E. Doak, on August 25, 2008. Her deepest desires were to always fulfill her roles of being a devout Christian and a dedicated and loving Wife, Mother and “Nana.”
She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Brent) Myers, Angie (Mark) Beros and her son, Scott (Stacy) Doak; 12 grandchildren, Garrett Doak, Wes Myers, Luke (Tanya) Neff, Kara (John) Cleek, Allie (Kyle) Garner, Hannah Beros, Shane, Brandon and Ashton Doak; 4 great grandchildren, Xander Fairchild, Brantley Neff, Dane Cleek and Ellie Garner.
Janet was a faithful member of the Middlebourne Church of Christ for several years and after moving to Ohio in 1999, she placed her membership with the New Philadelphia Church of Christ and continued her faithful life in Christian fellowship.
In keeping with Janet’s wishes, cremation care will be provided through the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, Ohio. A service celebrating Janet’s life will be held February 25, 2023 beginning at 12 PM in the New Philadelphia Church of Christ at New Philadelphia with her son-in-law, Mark Beros, leading the service. The family will receive friends, in the church, from 11:30 AM to 12 PM.
