Janice Carolyn (Hatton) Green, 82, of Deersville died at home early Wednesday morning of June 12, 2024, following a brief illness.

She was born in Leivasy, West Virginia on May 7, 1942, to the late Henry and Roberta Marie (Jones) Hatton. She was on her way to attend some summer classes to finish up high school, when she met the love of her life, Gary Aurthur Green. They were married on January 6, 1962, and spent 57 years together before his death on August 2, 2019. Once married, Janice became a housewife and mother which she loved being. She enjoyed gardening, loving animals, caring for the chickens, and spending time with her family. Janice and Gary were part of the Tusco Amateur Radio club and were on the committee that oversaw Hamfest. Following Gary’s death, Janice became involved with Deersville Faith and Fellowship, participating in Women of Mission, the choir, and the Knotty Ladies, who made blankets for sick patients.

Surviving are children: Mickey Lee Green of Deersville, Melissa Green of Deersville, and Michelle (Travis) Calmez of Fountain, Colorado; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a brother Larry Hatten of Beverly, West Virginia.

 Along with her parents, she is preceded by a sister Joyce Sidolsky.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, beginning at 2:00 P.M. held at Deersville Faith and Fellowship, 226 Main St., Deersville, Ohio 44693. Calling hours will follow the service and be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. also at the church.
