Janis J. Milyiori, 79, a lifelong resident of Dover, Ohio until 2009 when she moved to be closer to family, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Kobacker Hospice House in Columbus, Ohio.
Born April 23, 1943, in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Pat Jerome and Mary (Tornabene) Jerome. In addition to her parents, Janis was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years James Milyiori; brother-in-law, Louis “Sonny” Milyiori; sister-in-law, Nancy Brown Milyiori; brother-in-law, Floyd “Skip” Foster; and her nephew, Thomas Foster.
Janis was a graduate of the former St. Joseph High School and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Seniors in Dover. She was a retired business owner of The Scissor Shack Hair Salon in New Philadelphia.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Janis will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rhonda Geduldig of Columbus, OH, and Renee Milyiori of Columbus, OH; sister, Patti Foster of New Philadelphia, OH; her grandson, Brandon Geduldig; and brother-in-law, Carl (wife, Claire) Milyiori of New Philadelphia. Janis leaves behind many nieces, cousins, and special friends.
Janis loved spending time with her family, especially her precious grandson, Brandon. She was a strong Italian woman who loved entertaining and cooking her famous Italian dishes.
In honoring Janis’ wishes, cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory of Dover. A memorial visitation will take place at the Dover funeral home on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 5-7 pm. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 10:00 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery of Dover.
