Jean M. Patterson, 81, of Uhrichsville, passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, after a period of declining health. Born January 30, 1941, in Gnadenhutten, she was the daughter of the late James Daniel “Jake” and Esther Leota (Burdette) Garabrandt.

On February 1, 1957, Jean wed Ollie Henry “Sonny” Patterson, Jr. with whom she enjoyed 37 years of marriage until his passing on April 21, 1994. Together, they raised five children, Dianne (Tim) Stine, Lora (Gary) Owen, Donna Patterson, and Alan (companion, Lori) Patterson who survive her, and Ollie H. “Pat” Patterson, III who preceded her in death. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Juanita Patterson; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, James, Betty, Martha, Danny, Wanda, and Sue; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband, and son, she was preceded in death by her dear friend and companion, Ivan Kleski.

Jean will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family around whom her whole life revolved. She also worked at the Hall Glove Factory for many years. She loved gardening – enjoying the flowers she grew and canning her vegetables – and had fun playing Bingo in her later years.

Services, officiated by Pastor Dave Bryan, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital.
