Jerry E. Collins – June 23, 2022

Jerry E. Collins, 82, of Dover passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Jerry was born on June 28, 1939, in Richville to the late George and Ruth Kilper Collins and was also preceded in death by his son, Todd M. Collins.

He joined the United States Navy following his graduation from high school. Following his discharge, he worked at the Timken Company for 10 years and eventually retired in 2019 from Skyline Mobile Homes in Sugarcreek after more than 30 years of service. Jerry loved woodworking, with his specialty being turning lamps on his wood lathe; he was also mechanically inclined and could fix anything with a motor. But most importantly, he loved his family and will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Carol Lampe Collins whom he married on June 23, 1962, exactly 60 years to the day of his passing. Jerry is also survived by his son, Eric S. Collins of Florida; sister, Judy Collins of Texas; brother, Tom Collins of Scio and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 29th starting at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Matthew Wald officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. The family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
