Jerry Lee Cox, 86, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, after a period of declining health. Born January 23, 1936, in Dennison, he was the son of the late John Albert and Bernice Marie (Ridgway) Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; son, Richard; and many siblings, including his twin brother, Larry.

Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force before spending many years as a truck driver. He retired from Vision Trucking in Uhrichsville.

He is survived by Becky and David Dixon who loved him and cared for him like their own father; Mackenzie Schreiber and Courtney Pipher who were like his granddaughters; Becky’s adopted daughters, Joanna, Harley, and Kaylee, who were also Jerry’s great-granddaughters; sister-in-law, June Cox; and a number of other family members including siblings and step-family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

According to Jerry’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society. Jerry would want to express his deep appreciation for the wonderful care he received from the nurses at Ember Complete Care and Schoenbrunn Healthcare who felt like family to him.
