Jerry Lee Dugan, 85, of Old Town Valley, New Philadelphia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 13, 2023.
A son of the late George Gilbert and Julia Rebecca (Wharton) Dugan, Jerry was born December 31, 1937, in New Philadelphia.
On December 29, 1956, Jerry married Mary Elizabeth Evans and together built their home, raised their family, and enjoyed trips with one another until Mary’s passing on May 20, 2016. Jerry was a longtime member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ and was a longtime Angus Beef Farmer. Jerry retired from the former Edwards Sales and Service at Strasburg, where he worked for 29 years as a truck driver. His family will miss his love for maintaining his large garden, working on the farm, and going fishing.
Jerry is survived by his children, Edward (Brenda) Dugan, Kathy (Kevin) Mayfield, David (Wendy) Dugan, and Randy Dugan and his companion Karla Morrison; his daughter-in-law, Becky Dugan; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Dugan; a granddaughter, Julia Dugan; two sisters, Doris Dugan, and Dorothy “Boots” Eichel and an infant brother, Charles Dugan.
The family will greet guests on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 9-11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Tim Hatfield will lead a service in the funeral home’s chapel beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. All are invited to join the family for a meal and fellowship in the New Philadelphia Church of Christ following services.
