Jerry Lee Hill Sr., 86, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a brief illness. Born March 29, 1938 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harold Kenneth and Mildred Viota (Keffer) Hill.
Jerry was a resident of Tuscarawas County for most of his life and was a 1956 graduate of Dennison High School. He also earned an Associate Degree in Ministry from the Baptist Bible College of Springfield, Missouri. He attended First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia and had worked in automobile sales for many years.
On December 12, 1992 in Renfrow Valley, Kentucky, Jerry married the former Shirley Jo Anderson who survives him at their home. Together, they enjoyed countless adventures as they loved to travel and go on cruises. He is also survived by his daughters, Darla (Tom) Stoodt and Debbie Williams; sons, Jerry (Stacey) Hill II, Jeff (Imelda) Hill, and Jay (Jessie) Hill; stepson, G. Brian (Mary) Anderson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Karen) Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
According to Jerry’s wishes, cremation is planned. His family will hold a celebration of his life on a future date. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Ohio’s Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663, in lieu of flowers.
