Jessie B. Lowery, 98, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, gained her wings on August 23, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her close family and loved ones.
Jessie was born on September 6, 1927, in Rutledge, Alabama, to Willie Rogers and Barry Rogers. Throughout her life, Jessie was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, unwavering faith, a woman whose love knew no bounds. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, a faithful church member, and a cherished friend who gave endlessly of herself, offering guidance, comfort, strength, and unconditional love to all of those fortunate enough to cross her path.
Jessie worked for many years as a dedicated household caretaker, providing care and keeping the homes of others with pride, compassion, and attention to detail. After retiring from her work, she devoted herself to being a full-time mother and wife, dedicating her time to caring for her children and husband. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured the years she spent loving, nurturing, and supporting them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Rogers and Barry Rogers; her husband, James Lowery, her siblings, Ora, Benny, Dempsey, Dennis, Rosa M., Virginia, Leobrie, and Lilly Ruth; and her great-grandchildren, Nezariah Covington and Janai Evans.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bertha Lowery, Ora Lee Robinson, Timothy Lowery, and James Autrey; her grandchildren Yolanda Lowery, Anthonette Martin, Carrie Lowery, Timothy Lowery Jr., Taneisha Lowery, Takerr Lowery, Keith Robinson, Tatiana Robinson, and Serita Lowery; her great- grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
With loving hearts, we invite you to join us as we honor and celebrate the life and memory of our beloved Jessie B. Lowery at 11 a.m., on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Dennison, Ohio, with the Rev. Henry McNeil officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, Ohio.
Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 (one hour prior to services) at the church.
