Nick McWilliams reporting – Following the fire in Jaycee Village over the weekend, affected residents are urged to use Job and Family Services resources.

The fire, which displaced multiple residents and is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, started in a third-floor room, causing fire, smoke, and water damage.

Anyone who suffered due to the fire who receives Tuscarawas County JFS food assistance benefits can apply to have lost items replaced.

Applications can be completed in-person at the New Philadelphia office on 16th Street or online at www.tcjfs.org

All food losses must be reported within 10 days of the incident to be accepted.

Victims who are eligible may also be able to gain Prevention, Retention, and Contingency benefits for personal items or clothing. Those applications are also available in-person and online.

All applications must go through a verification process, along with an interview.
