Jill Adair Gibbs, age 71, of Uhrichsville, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a short illness.

Born January 31, 1954 in Dennison, Jill is the daughter of the late James and Maxine (Wright) Kilpatrick.

For 44 years, Jill was employed as a compositor for The Evening Chronicle and the Times Reporter, until her retirement in 2015.  She was an avid reader, seamstress, crafter, painter, story teller and she enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening.

Jill is survived by her husband, whom she married July 4, 2000, John “JJ” Gibbs, of the home.  Also surviving are her children Alisa (Brian) Tobin of Freeport, Michelle Angelozzi (Justin) of Cuyahoga Falls, James (Holly) Gibbs of Dover and Carrie (Kyle) Hanks of Leavenworth, Kansas; sister Ginny (Terry) Bache of Dennison; grandchildren Jonathan Fritter, Mikaela Tobin, Kyler Tobin, Riley Cesnak and Kenedi Cesnak; step grandchildren Abby Gibbs, Zak Gibbs, Katley Hanks and Casey Hanks; great grandchildren Bentley, Marlowe and Oaklynn and step great grandchild Lorelai along with her favorite kitties Smoke and Zip.

In addition to her parents, Jill is preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law Jack and Mary Lou Gibbs; brothers Jim and Michael Kilpatrick and sister-in-law Challis Gibbs.

A time of remembrance will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc., in Uhrichsville.

In honor of Jill, the family asks that if you are attending the services that you wear red, Jill’s favorite color.
