John F. Owens, 89, of Sugarcreek, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at his home.
John was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on February 8, 1936 to the late Sam and Alice Owens.
He is retired from N&W Railroad in Brewster and following his retirement he drove for the Amish Community.
He is survived by his three children, Esther Hidey, John Owens, Jr. and Nancy (Wayne) Filby; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in by 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his 11 siblings.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will have a memorial reception at the Mill Street Diner at a future date to be announced.
