John Robert Seney, age 67, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at his residence, following a brief illness
John was born on May 21, 1959, in Bronxville, New York. He is the son of the late Faye Marie (Pomponio) Seney.
In 1977, John graduated from Tuckahoe High School in New York. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, having served from November 20, 1979, to November 19, 1983. There he received the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Ribbon and Good Conduct Award. He was released from active duty and transferred to Naval Reserve, having been in the military for a total of 10 years. After his separation, John was employed at Skyline, Horizons and he also painted houses. He enjoyed wood working, working out, sports-New York Teams, Browns and Guardians Baseball. He also loved to play the lottery.
On January 3, 1987, John married Sylvia (Garbrandt) Seney who survives of the home. Also surviving is a daughter Melissa Seney of Uhrichsville; siblings Cheryl Johnson, Elaina (John Pradlik) Makris, Deborah Peregene, Michael Seney, Richard (Isabel) Seney; sisters-in-law Debora Seney and Vicky Munson; brothers-in-law James (Lisa) Garbrandt and Rick Garbrandt, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his mother, John is preceded in death by two brothers Andrew and Raymond Seney and a brother-in-law Leslie Munson.
In keeping with John’s wishes, no services or calling hours will be observed.
