John William “Bill” Heddleston, 94, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Oak Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Baltic, following a period of declining health. Born August 27, 1927 in New Matamoras, Ohio, he was the last surviving child of the late Walter Charles and Alice Delia (Olson) Heddleston, having been preceded in death by his siblings, Carlisle, Delbert, Eileen, Theodora, and Gene.
Bill was a 1945 graduate of Dennison High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy at the close of World War II. He was employed for many years by Joy Manufacturing until retiring from his position as a supervisor.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Georgina “Gi Gi” Heddleston and Jeff Heddleston, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
According to Bill’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public service. He will be interred in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
