Jon Mikel “Big Jon” Infield, 62, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024.
He was born in Millersburg on May 26, 1961 to the late Paul A. and Beverly (Pasch) Infield. and married the former Gloria Steed on September 2, 1987. She survives.
He has worked for Gordon Tucking for the past 30 years and had worked at Foremost in Sugarcreek.
Many may know Jon as the Village of Sugarcreek Santa Claus for over 20 years. He delighted in bringing holiday joy to the community. He was a member of the Schoenbrunn Barbershop Quartet for many years
In addition to his wife, Gloria, he is survived by his brothers Jim (Carol) Infield of Orrville and Terri (Kathy) infield of Knoxville, TN; and 5 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Mikel Infield.
In keeping with Jon’s wishes cremation will take place. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek. Friends may call on Friday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
