Joseph Lynn Mendenhall, of Dennison – known by all as Lynn – passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, after a lengthy illness. Born July 3, 1954 in Dennison, he was the only son of the late Ray and Geneva Mable (Patterson) Mendenhall.

After his 1972 graduation from Conotton Valley High School, Lynn earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Belmont Technical College. He will be remembered in the local farming community for his years as a farmer and as the owner and proprietor of Mendenhall Farms and Services – the equipment dealership he operated for many years. He was also a longtime board member of the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District of which he was a past president until his health prevented him from continuing. Lynn loved going to truck and tractor pulls, and he was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt.

Lynn leaves behind his daughter, Amanda (George) Radich; eldest son, Ray (Kristy) Mendenhall, III; younger son, Matthew Mendenhall and his mother, Amy Mendenhall – Lynn’s former spouse; grandchildren, Danielle, Deric, Abigail, Kaseton, and Adalynn; and his dear companion, Mary Dunfee.
