Juanita Alberta Wright, 88, of Stillwater, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on April 6, 2024, surrounded by family. Juanita was born in Rush Township, near Uhrichsville, Ohio, on February 2, 1936 to Golda Marie (Latto) and Jasper Edwin Wright. She attended Pleasant Grove School and was graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1954.

After graduating high school, Juanita went on to work at H.L. Green 5&10 Cent Store. Then later worked at Laurel Valley where she would continue until retirement in 2001. While working for Laurel Valley, Juanita also ran a cookie wagon with her friend, Joy McGuire. Her most well-known cookies – her sugar cookies – were a hit among patrons and family. Juanita served the Lord as a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Tippecanoe for many years, where she played the guitar for worship services. She was also a part of the Rich Women’s Club in Uhrichsville for years.

Juanita was caregiver of her parents, Jasper and Golda Marie, until their deaths. She did not marry or have children of her own, however, she had many nieces and nephews that she made sure felt her love. She spent many hours in the kitchen making meals and desserts for her nieces and nephews who all adored her cooking and company. She owned a side-by-side that she spent countless hours riding on with her nieces and nephews, on all of the back roads of Rush Township. She loved vegetable gardening, planting flowers, and her favorite – mowing the lawn. Even in her later years, when she could no longer mow, she would spend hours on the porch, watching her nephew, Zach, mow – making sure the lines were straight and the yard looked good. She also enjoyed playing card games with her brother, Theron, and family, spending time with her dog, Ruby, and cats, Butterscotch and Elsa, and having endless conversations with her best friend, Amanda Haney.

Juanita is proceeded in death by her parents, Jasper and Golda; brothers, Gary and Fred; great-niece, Amanda Burnem; and her close friend, Phyllis Dickey-Gardner. She is survived by her brothers, Theron (Polly) Wright and Ronnie (Mary) Wright; nieces and nephews, Susan (Greg) Carr, Mark (Joyce) Wright, Mike (Gwen) Wright, Shara (Tom) Brown, Alma (Wimp) Quillen, Sandy (Thomas) Edwards, Patti (Ross) DiGiorgio, Terry (Debby) Wright, Scott (Holy) Wright, Devin (Brenda) Wright, and Derek Wright great-nieces and great-nephews, Zach Brown, Caleb Brown, Emily Brown, Justin Wright,  Ben Wright, BreAnn Dickey, Gary Quillen, Ryan Quillen, Jennifer Copland, Maria Charles, Kristen Stinfort, Travis Wright, Taylor Wright, and Dakota Wright; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Per Juanita’s wishes, there will not be a public visitation. Her family and close friends will have a private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Feed Spring Church.
