Judith Faye Parks, 82, of West Lafayette, passed away on April 23, 2023, at her home. She was born April 14, 1941 in Massillon, to the late Carl and Francis (Thompson) Schillinger. Judith graduated from Massillon High School in 1959. On September 30, 1961, she married Kenneth “Red” Parks, who survives.
Judy was a long-time babysitter of too many kids to name, many who referred to her as “Mom.” She also worked at Cameron’s Hilltop Store, where she met Red, and worked briefly at Rugers Grocery Store as a cashier. She formerly attended Irish Ridge United Methodist Church. Judy loved Elvis, being with her grand- and great-grandkids, and pulling weeds, or “billy-goating.”
Judy is survived by her children, Kenneth Leroy (Teresa) Parks of Columbus, Karl L. Parks of Plainfield, Kimberly Lynn (Parks) Sells of West Lafayette; six grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Kory, Codey, Karie, Kristin; four great-grandchildren, Haven, Kinsley, Everly Rogue, McKenzie.
Along with her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her sisters, Pat (Bill) Dawson, and Kaye (Chuck) Gerhart; half-sister, Maryanne Schillinger; half-brother, Corky Schillinger, and step-mother, Dee Schillinger.
A funeral service for Judy Parks will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 12 pm at Addy Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Visitation will take place the same day, from 10-12, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hartwood Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Online condolences may be made at www.addyfuneralhome.com.
