Judith “Judy” Jones, 80, of Newcomerstown, passed away on September 11, 2023, in Schoenbrunn Healthcare surrounded by family and friends. She was born September 20, 1942, in Port Washington to Henry Thornton and Orella Mae (Heston) Thornton.
She was a wonderful homemaker and a world class mother. Judy enjoyed cooking, being with her family, reading, her pets, and coloring on her tablet. She was a member of the Frys Valley Moravian Church.
Judith was married to her first husband, Stanley Morrison, who passed away on January 2, 1986. She then married her second husband, Donald Jones, who also preceded her in death.
Judith is survived by her children, Lonnie Thornton of the home, Alesia Decker of Port Washington, S. Scott Morrison of the home, and Kay Morrison of Port Washington; granddaughters, Samantha Thornton (Bryan Parker), Amber (Robert III) Rehard, Ashley Decker (Ryan Tudor); great-granddaughters Alexa Schuler and Makayla Rehard; brothers, Clarance “Jack” Thornton and Robert “Bob” Thornton. She is preceded in death by her son, Donnie Morrison; son in law, Michael Decker; four sisters and one brother.
Services for Judith Jones will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home with Dave Geyer officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Port Washington. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home.
