Judith L. Himes, 83, of Strasburg, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton.
Judy was born April 28, 1942, in Beach City, a daughter of the late Benjamin G. and Gertrude Wade Eberly. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Birdie Alexander and Ruth Fahrni; and two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
She retired from the Strasburg School District after 23 years as a bus driver. Together with her husband Dave, she owned and operated Himes Trailer Sales and Magic Enterprises Inc. in Strasburg, and the Crazy 8 Campground in Kimbolton for many years. Judy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, and boating, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David M. Himes, whom she married February 12, 1960; her children, Michelle (James) McRae of Florida and Michael (Debbie) Himes of Strasburg; her brother, Benjamin Eberly of Brewster; grandchildren, Ryan (Samantha) Himes, Joshua McRae, Nicole (Josef) Bornhorst, and Jonathan McRae; and great-grandchildren, Raelynn Himes and Sarah Bornhorst.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Strasburg, with Emily Crilley officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. The family will receive friends Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory, Strasburg.
