Judy Contini Sloan, 79, of Gainesville, VA, passed away on November 29, 2023, in Hospice Care in VA. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen Contini of Dover.
A 1962 Dover High graduate, Judy was a member of the Marching Tornado Band. She was a trained beautician but was married shortly after receiving her diploma from beauty school and felt family was more important. She married William J. Sloan from Xenia, OH who preceded her in death in 2004.
They had 2 beautiful daughters who reside in VA. She was employed as a receptionist at a government company in Centreville, VA for over 25 years. After retiring, she volunteered as a hospital aide for 12 plus years until Covid.
Judy’s main passion was playing bocci on the “Mamma Mia’s” team in Gainesville. Along with the ladies in her neighborhood, she would enjoy playing Mah Jong and Rummy Cube which provided fellowship and Camaraderie.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Somer Sloan Gregory of Catlett, VA and Heather Sloan Lopez of Reston, VA; grandchildren Alexandra (Nick) DiRobertis of North Carolina and Beau Ruga of Virginia.
Cremation was entrusted to Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, VA. She was interred with her husband at Quantico National Cemetery.
