Mary Alice Reporting –

As a way to give the southern portion of Tuscarawas County greater access to fresh produce, a farmer’s market will be hosted in the City of Uhrichsville.

The first event is Friday, from 5pm to 8pm, on Third Street.

The farmer’s market was created by Whitney Manson, Camp the Back Yard owner, the owner of the Pindrop Shop, Jessika Zontini, and local homesteader Laura Gray.

Manson explains that there will be local producers on hand selling fruits and vegetable, eggs, meat, honey, and more.

“The goal for the farmer’s market is to make quality food accessible to all individuals in our area, so not just Uhrichsville but the southern part of the county. To give something to our community that’s also giving our youth and our families something to do in the evening.”

Additionally, food trucks, live music, kid games and activities will also be available. Manson adds that local shops on or near Third Street will also be open.

“Uhrichsville has so much. It’s such a vibrant downtown and there’s so many cool shops that this is an opportunity to give more exposure to our small business owners.”

This event will be held every 2nd and 4th Friday in the months of July, August, and September. More details on the Uhrichsville Farmers Market can be found on their Facebook or Instagram pages.
