Karen Lee (McMath) White, 83, passed away peacefully in her home on January 31, 2026, under the loving care of her family and Traditions Hospice, following several years living with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on July 23, 1942, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to the late Claude C. and Cora (Rausch) McMath. Karen was a 1961 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and worked in retail throughout her life, including employment with Walmart and Miracle Adhesive.
On June 15, 1968, she married the love of her life, Jerry White, who preceded her in death. Together they enjoyed camping with family at Atwood Lake, where Karen also loved crafting, bowling and working in the concession stand at the lake. Additionally, she was an usher at The Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas.
Karen is survived by her children, Candy (Thomas) Gopp of Dover and Jerry White II (companion, Debra Webber) of New Philadelphia; her great-granddaughter, Cloey Stage; and her nieces, Kim Taylor and Evie Raines, both of central Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Betty McMath.
Visitation will be held at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A service celebrating Karen’s life will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home.
