Kathe Dale Mizer, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Newcomerstown, Ohio and Estes Park, Colorado, passed away peacefully in her home on August 30, 2026.
Born July 24, 1938, to George and Alice Frenton, Kathe lived a life centered around family, adventure, and plenty of laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jon Johns; her first husband, Jan Johns; and several brothers and sisters.
Kathe is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Dave Mizer; her daughter, Janet Johns Kendall; her sons, Greg Mizer (Beth) and Jeff Mizer (Becky); and her grandchildren, Brittany (Jack) Dudley, Seth (Desiree) Mizer, Jessie (Tanner) Kerchal, Jordan (Shelby) Wright, Rhett (Abbi) Mizer, Coy (Cari) Johns, and AnnieDale Johns. She is also survived by her special nephew, Chad Frenton, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Kathe had a lifelong love of travel and adventure. After owning and operating the Olympus Lodge in Estes Park, Colorado, for many years, she and Dave took to the road in their fifth wheel, traveling the country, seeing the states, and, most importantly, visiting their grandchildren along the way. They retired to Tucson, Arizona where they spent many wonderful years enjoying the warmer climate and welcoming family and friends into their home.
Above all else, Kathe loved her family. She will be remembered for her devotion to those she loved, her ornery sense of humor, her quick wit and perfectly timed comebacks, and the laughter she brought wherever she went. Her family will carry countless stories, memories, and a little bit of her orneriness with them for generations to come.
